SP Unity Cup unveiling postponed

 

The Senate President Unity Cup unveiling ceremony programme, which was earlier scheduled to told last week Friday, 29th of September, 2017, has been postponed.

According to Local Organising Committee of the football competition, the decision became necessary due to the timing of the tournament.

The organiser further stated that the postponement would give all participants the opportunity to have proper preparation for the main tournament.

They however regretted the inconveniences and promise to announce the new date in no long distance date.

Meanwhile, the Kwara South Senator, Dr. Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, lauded the organizers of the SP Unity Cup for putting together ideas that will further promote the unity of the country.

The Senator Senator gave the commendation when he met with the Main Organising Committee in his office at the National Assembly, Abuja last week.

The Senator opined that apart from the uniting factor of football, which is viable towards harmonious coexistence of people of diverse ethics and religions, it’s also a medium for new talents to be discovered across the nation.

He praised the organizers led by Mr. Abdulrauph Abdulsalam, for the nationalistic approach of the soccer fiesta.

The Senator however enjoined all the skilful footballers across the federation to make good use of the opportunity of the event as a way of showcasing their talents to the world.

The senator assured the organizers of his readiness to support them to ensure a successful hosting of the competition organised in honour of the Nigeria Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON).
