FG charged on funding, provision of adequate facilities for Judiciary

 

The Federal Government has been charged to provide proper funding and adequate facilities for the judiciary to boost effective dispensation of justice.
The Chairman of Ilorin branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, Barr Manzuma Issa, gave the charge while featuring on a Radio Kwara personality interview programme; “Playing Host”
According to him, in ensuring independent and autonomy of the judiciary, it must be properly funded by the executive arm of government.
Barr Issa added that executive arm of government should endeavour to provide adequate working facilities to the judiciary system of government, saying that this would help to eradicate delay in the dispensation of justice and also protect Fundamental Human Rights of the citizenry, ensure fairness and equity in the discharge of their duties
The NBA Chairman frowned at the high level of indiscipline and corruption saying that it has hindered the growth of the country.
He, therefore, stressed that leaders of the legal profession will not relent in putting measures that would help to tame the level of immoral practices in the country in place.
Speaking on the level of unemployment, he called on the FG to refocus attention on job creation in order to eradicate criminal activities among Nigerian youths.
Barrister Manzuma Issa also solicited strengthening of the sovereignty of the country.
