Make good deeds your priority, clerics task Muslims

Khalifat Sakama in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State, Ustaz Abubakar Muhammed Awal and his counterpart from Oja-Tuntun, Imam Isiaq Kawu Oja-Tuntun have charged Muslims to make good deeds their priority as death is inevitable for every creature.

The duo made the call yesterday in Ilorin, during the fidau for ladhan of Ita-Amodu mosque, Alhaji Ahmad Ahmed.

Khalifa Awal stated further that Muslims should always think about what they will be remembered for after passing on.

He described the deceased as a man who led a good life, adding that, “He will be among the respected on the day of Qiyaoma. Allah will give him a special treat for his position as ladhan while alive. Everybody will be left naked except him, who will be covered with pant.”

He urged the children of the departed to follow their father’s path. Similarly, Kawu described the late Ahmed, as a man who encouraged people to toe the path of Allah and one

who fulfilled his promises.

Kawu tasked the bereaved family to move closer to Allah as He is the only comforter.

“We should not engage in bad acts which may lead us to incur the wrath of Allah. We should observe our prayers regularly, recite the Qur’an and engage in good deeds all the time,” he said.

Earlier, Imam Abdulraheem Abdulrahaman led the prayer for the deceased while AbdulSalam Oniwa recited the Qur’an.

Personalities at the event included Senator Ahmed Mohammed, the Magaji Nda  of Ilorin, Alh. Solihu Mohammed Woru and the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, National Pilot Newspaper, Alhaji Billy Adedamola.

Others are; former Chief Press Secretary to the ex-governor of the state, Alhaji Mas’ud Adebimpe, GM Herald Newspaper, Alh. Abdulrasak Adebayo, GM Radio Kwara, Alh Abdulateef Adedeji, Alhaji Tunde Akanbi and former Grand Khadi in the state, Salihu Mohammed.
