New Kwara DSS boss seeks media support

 

The newly deployed Director of State Security, Kwara State, Iquo Arthur-Wowrey has solicited support of media in the fight against crime in the state.

Speaking during a meeting with media executives in her office in Ilorin on Thursday, she said the issue of security should be everyone’s business

“We are going to work together. The intelligence officers will play their role, the media and those who want to give advice or valuable information too should play their role to achieve security,” she implored.

Arthur-Wowrey stressed that the security agency cannot succeed in its role without the support of the media and members of the public.

“We require valuable information because our men cannot cover everywhere. We need to work with one another to fight crime in the state,” she added.

The DSS boss assured that information provided would be treated with confidentiality towards curbing crime in the state.

Responding, the Managing Director and Editor-in-chief, National Pilot newspaper, Alhaji Billy Adedamola represented by the News Editor, Olodan Adebayo and other General Managers of media houses present at the occasion, unequivocally pledged their support to the security agency towards achieving security of lives and property in the state.
