The Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Ilorin branch, Barrister Issa Manzuma has commended the National Pilot newspaper for its incisive coverage of activities of the judiciary vis-a-vis legal practitioners in the state.
Manzuma gave the commendation on Tuesday while addressing journalists at the 2nd Yusuf Olaolu Alli media roundtable held at the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) centre in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The NBA chairman praised the medium for its professionalism and projecting image of the state judiciary to the public through objective journalism.
He therefore promised that the association will render pro bono service to the medium whenever needs be.
“I must commend National Pilot for what they are doing for the lawyers in the state. They devotes four pages to cover the legal event in the state. They’ve proven to be outstanding.
“Whenever they run into hazards of their profession, NBA will be there to defend them without collecting anything. I can easily instruct my people not to collect anything from the medium,” Manzuma added.
