Saraki: Rescuing Buhari from Cabal’s grip next biggest challenge for APC – Shehu Sani

The Senator Representing Kaduna Central in the Senate, Shehu Sani has described the treatment meted out by the Federal Government to some principal officers of the senate as very disturbing even as he said President Muhammadu Buhari must demonstrate he’s in charge.

Sani who was speaking at a TVC programme, Stand Point on Sunday, monitored in Ilorin noted that members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)  that contributed heavily to the emergence of the party have been regrettably treated badly by a cabal that has hijacked the presidency.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki and some principal officers of the National Assembly refused to see the President who had invited them to the villa following the action of security operatives.

The President after learning about the incident later sent some government officials to get the senator for the meeting.

While speaking with the press over the matter, Saraki had requested that the matter be focus on the serious issue on ground adding that everything has been resolved.

“I know this is the kind of report that excites the media but as you can see, we are here now which shows that everything is back to normal. So I advise we focus on the serious issue on ground”, Saraki said.

But in his comment, Sani said the biggest challenge facing the APC after the election is how to rescue president Buhari from the grip of the cabal in the government.

“The next serious challenge for the APC is how to free the President from the grip of the cabal who had surrounded him.

“Many people have spoken about it with the recent coming of the customs boss, Hameed Ali, before now, the first lady and my sister, Hajia Aisha Buhari, and other notable Nigerians.

“I love the president but we tell ourselves the truth, some action of the government on the fight against corruption is very disturbing and unless the president takes some very drastic action, Nigerians are losing patience.

“Imagine the way some principal officers of the senate were treated, complete with the senate president. That calls for question. But worst still is the treatment that has been meted out to leaders like Asiwaju Tinubu who played a key role and committed huge resources to ensure the APC takes power at the centre.

“There is this impression already that the president is being selective when it comes to the anticorruption fight involving members of the ruling party. That is why I said then that the members of the APC in the list of the corrupt Nigerians handed to him in Dubai must be published an not be shielded”.
