Setraco FC are Abuja League Champions

 

Setraco FC emerged champions of 2017 FCT football league beating Rhapsody FC 2-1 in a tension soaked match at the popular Area 3 playing ground.

Both team showed determination as they hardly made mistakes in their passes and dribbling in the first ten minutes of the game.

It was a very interesting and entertaining that left spectators sitting on the edge of their seats as both teams displayed good artistry of football.

The highly contested match was keenly watched by the Director of Sports Department Chief Mrs Dilichukwu Onyendinma, FCT FA chairman Talle, team manager of Setraco FC Barrister child Anyanwu, FCT SWAN chairman Mr Kayode Adeniyi and dignitaries that graced the occasion.

Sunny Samuel drew the first blood when he capitalised on the Rhapsody FC goalkeeper who mistakenly drop the ball after easy catch from a low shot outside the 18 yard box, Samuel who was well position just tapped in the ball in the 21st minutes of the match.

The first half ended 1-0, and all hope was not lost as Rhapsody just needed a draw to lift the trophy.

Both sides could not find the back of the net until in the 72nd minutes when Ayuba Emmanuel who won the Most Valuable Player of the tournament scored one of the best goals of the competition as he curved the ball into the net which beat three defenders and left the goalkeeper motionless.

Rhapsody FC scored a consolation goal in the 86th minutes from a well-taken free kick but the goal was not enough to win them the trophy.
