Ilorin Rotary Club urges affluent to save lives

 

The Ilorin Rotary Club has called on the affluent in the society to make a priority the saving of lives of the less privileged in the society.
The President, Rotary Club of Ilorin GRA, Alhaji Alabi Amuda stated this when presenting a N50,000 cheque to a cancer patient, Madam Iyabo Giwa on behalf of the club.
Amuda, a retired Permanent Secretary in the Kwara State civil service noted that one of the major agenda of the club is to keep promoting humanitarian services in the society.
He said, “Being wealthy without assisting the needy in the society is not a symbol of good virtues.
“Patients are dying in various hospitals on daily basis because they don’t have the financial capacity to cater for their treatment. We as Rotary Club will continue our aims of helping the needy and touching lives in various communities.”
Responding, the beneficiary, Madam Iyabo Giwa appreciated members of the Rotary Club of Ilorin GRA for the kind gesture.
She said the gesture will go a long way in making meaningful impact in her life.
