Police arrests 3 suspected car snatchers in Ilorin

 

The men of Kwara State Police command have arrested three car snatchers in Ilorin, the state capital.
The suspects are Idowu Jimoh, Abdulrahman Mubaraq and Ambali Abdulganiyu.
It was gathered that the suspects use taxi cab to operate and rob people of their cars at gun point.
Speaking on the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi said the three suspects were arrested along Asa-Dam road.
According to him, the robbery gang make use of taxi to trail their victims and rob them at gunpoint.
“The robbers trail people driving expensive cars, they use their car to double that of their victims and rob them at gunpoint,” he explained.
He disclosed that a jeep was recovered from the suspects and efforts are on to recover the other stolen cars, adding that they would soon be charged to court.
One of the suspects, Idowu Jimoh told Pilot Crime that he joined the gang when he could not make ends meet.
Jimoh, who is a refrigerator repairer added that he has not been able to sell the two cars he snatched at gunpoint.
Another member of the gang, Abdul Rahaman Mubarak a 27- year -old taxi driver said he had only been involved in two operations.
