A 25 -year- old cattle rearer, Fada Manu has allegedly killed a herdsman, Usman Hassan of Fulani Bush camp Kusogi Village via Shonga in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, over illicit affair with his wife, Pilot Crime has learnt.
The man was said to have murdered the victim penultimate Wednesday.
It was learnt that relatives of the deceased became worried when he did not return home in the evening of the fateful day after he had taken his cattle out for grazing.
Efforts to trace his whereabouts was said to have proved abortive, which made his family members to constitute a search party the following day.
According to a police source, the corpse of Usman was discovered in a shallow grave by the river bank, with matchete cuts in different parts of the body.
“Father of the deceased, Hassan Garba reported the case at the police Station at Divisional headquarters. Investigation by men of State Criminal and Investigation Department led to the arrest of the suspect.
“The suspect later confessed that he murdered the deceased because he discovered he was having an illicit affair with his wife, Muina Fada.
Fada confessed further that he matcheted the deceased to death and cut his lifeless body into pieces and buried the body parts beside a stream, “the source further divulged.
The state Police Public Relations officer DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, when contacted, denied knowledge of the case.
