The General Coordinator, National Unity Cup Soccer Competition, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Owolabi Wopa has heaped praises on the organiser for the success of the first phase of the tournament.
Owolabi, a former Vice Chairman of Nigeria Premier League, gave the commendation in Ilorin on Wednesday while speaking with Pilot Sports at the match venue, Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
He said the tournament has witnessed a new dimension, following the calibre of people that are now involved in the organisation of the soccer fiesta.
He gave kudos to the Kwara State Governor Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and the Chief of Staff Alhaji Babatunde for the support given to the organiser.
The first phase of the knock out game ended yesterday after seven games and the second phase will begin next week according to the Chairman of Main Organising Committee and his Secretary, Alhaji A. Abdulrahaman and Rasheed Saraki.
No fewer than 30 clubs registered for the preliminary knock out stages and only one team will represent the state at the National championship scheduled to hold later in the year.
