The popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as Kwam 1, has lost one of his daughters, Wasilat.
Wasilat Anifowose died in Canada after a brief illness.
The deceased, said to be 34 years old, reportedly died in the early hours of Tuesday from complications arising from diabetes.
Many of her old secondary school friends and mates have taken to the social media to express their condolences.
Wasilat was described as a gentle and peace loving person.
Kwam 1’s manager, Esther, confirmed the death to PREMIUM TIMES but declined further comments.
Wasilat, who relocated to Canada almost 10 years ago, was well known to be one of the favourite of the Fuji Czar.
Among many other reasons, K1 was particularly fond of Wasilat because she was the only child of her mother, who died many years ago.
Those who knew Wasilat would attest to the fact that she was a lady of impeccable character and she was loved by everyone who knew her.
K1’s former manager, Percy Ademokun, confirmed the death in a message on Facebook on Tuesday.
“May the soul of Wasilat Marshal rest well and God be with K1 as he bear the loss,” Ademokun, who is now based in Chicago, the United States wrote.
Predictably, the Fuji Czar has remained inconsolable since he received the tragic news. Also, prominent Nigerians and his fans around the world have been sending condolences messages to him since the news broke out.
Meanwhile, his friends and family members are putting heads together to arrange a befitting burial for the departed.
