2 nabbed for cable theft in Ilorin

Men of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) in the early hours of today, arrested two suspects along Asa Dam road for cable theft even as the third suspect fled the scene of the crime on motorcycle.
The suspects were reportedly nabbed while cutting cables from the Light Up Kwara (LUK) battery around 2 am.
According to a vigilante officer who does not want his name in print, in the suspects are notorious for cable theft hence the reason a surveillance team was set up in the area.
“While on operation, the suspects move around on motorcycle cutting cables and other valuable items around Ilorin metropolis. Their other accomplices have been arrested and remanded at the Mandala Prison in the state.”
Speaking on the arrest, he said, “The suspects were caught in action but their third accomplice escaped with their tools on a motorcycle.”
When this medium visited the crime scene, the suspects were noticed tied down with rope while the vigilantes await the arrival of men of the state Police Command from “A” Division.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made to arrest the fleeing suspect according to a member of the vigilante group.
