Saraki doles out scholarships grants to 37 emirate students

 

Ahead of Wednesday’s closure of the tuition payment portal for undergraduate students of the University of Ilorin, the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, paid the tuition of 37 students, Tuesday night.
The 37 students, who are a part of the Ilorin Emirate Student Union, were given N25,000 each in cash to pay for the 2017/2018 academic session.
The President of the association, Amosa Ahmad Aliyulahi, revealed that a letter was written to the Senate President’s constituency office to request for his assistance in the payment of tuition fees of some of its members that were yet to pay for the 2017/2018 academic session.
In a prompt response, Saraki instructed that the tuition and fees of all the concerned students be attended to immediately.
One of the beneficiaries, Mohammed Jamiu Ismail, expressed his gratitude for the gesture and prayed for God’s guidance for the Senator representing Kwara Central in the 8th Senate.
The association also applauded Saraki’s work in Kwara Central, stating that the Senate President has established and maintained a track-record of helping students with their education, through scholarships.
“We sincerely appreciate the speedy response of the Senate President to the letter written to his constituency office,” the Ilorin Emirate Student Union said.
