Diligent KWARTMA official celebrated on social media

An official of Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA), Taiwo Akindele was celebrated on a social media platform, Kwaragist at the weekend for discharging his duties diligently throughout 2017.

Akindele, who was initially a volunteer traffic warden from 2010 at Offa Road, GRA, Ilorin was offered employment by the Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed in 2014.

“Today we celebrate him on his selfless service. If you are sad or depressed, try and pass through Offa road in Kwara State in the early hours of the day or in the afternoon around 3, 4 or 5pm, you will definitely find him working and making people laugh at the same time.

“It is so funny that we do not know his name. But still, we celebrate him and would like to commend him for his contributions throughout the year 2017. So kwarans please help tag him, we need to find out what his name is and appreciate him,” the quote on the medium read.

Unilorin staff makes history as first lecturer in hiphop

University of Ilorin lecturer, Abdulwaheed Isiaq celebrated being Africa’s first lecturer hip hop artist at the weekend.

He wrote on his official Instagram page: “Exactly a year today when the news about my record setting achievement was unveiled to the whole world. Shoprite attendants explore yuletide to get bequest from customers

In the spirit of Christmas and New Year celebrations, employees of Shoprite in Ilorin took advantage of the situation to seek financial appreciation from customers.

The Shoprite attendants were noticed taking advantage of the customers who expressed amusement on their faces upon arrival at the facility.

At the mere mention of Merry Christmas, some customers were noticed to have doled out cash reward to the sales assistants while some of the attendants had to go a step further by asking, “Any Christmas and New Year gift for us”. For some of the sales assistants, their approach was more direct; “Even if you are not buying any item from us, we will appreciate if you can give us money to celebrate the yuletide season.”
