Pastor Joseph Babatunde of Peculiar Gospel Outreach Ministry (PGOM) has called on authorities to continue to intensifying effort in supporting sporting activities in the country.
Joseph described sports as a source of job creation for the youths, hence the need to encourage more youths to partake in sporting activities.
The cleric made the call during an interview at the 2017 Convention that ends with football match, organized for the various branches of the churches at the Imode Secondary School field, Imode, Oke-Ero Local Government area of Kwara State.
He said aside from the economic benefit, sporting activities also unite the people.
He however enjoined athletes to be conscious of how they relate with one another while competing.
The various church branches that contested in the football matches are Headquarters in Imode, Ilorin Regional Headquarters, Omu-Aran Parish and Osi Parish.
Ilorin Regional Headquarters however won the Cup after defeated Imode Headquarters 3-1 in the final match.
