ANCOPSS Patigi holds send forth for 10 principals

It was wide jubilation penultimate week as Association of Nigeria Confederation of Principal of Secondary School(ANCOPSS), Patigi Branch, Kwara State, held send forth in honour of 10 retired principals.
The ceremony which was first of its kind in the history of the local government had in attendance, school administrators and managers of education, technocrats, captain of industries and religious leaders in attendance.
In his welcome address, the ANCOPSS Chairman, Patigi LGA, Comrade Josiah Zhiri appreciated the honourees for the solid foundation laid which they laid.
According to him the landmark achievements of the retiring principals was unprecedented.
“Their exemplary leadership and perhaps charismatic school management are unequalled,” he said while praying for abundant reward for the retiring principals.
In his goodwill message, the Council Chairman, Hon. (Alh) Salihu G. Jibril also a retired principal who was represented by the Speaker, Hon Husseni Mohammed Tsanban commended the honourees for impacting knowledge on the children.
In their goodwill messages, the Education Secretary, Patigi L.G.E.A. Mallam Abdulkareem Issa, ably represented by Acting HoS Quality Assurance, Usman Joseph and Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Patigi branch, Com. Yusuf Jimoh, opined that the exit of the retired principals will create a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.
Responding on behalf of the retirees, Mallam Ibrahim Suleiman called on active principals to be more dedicated and upright adding that they will reap the reward one day.
He also appealed to the state government to invest more in education even as he solicited for assistance of the present administration in offsetting the outstanding pension arrears and gratuities of retirees.
Among the retirees are; Ibrahim Suleiman, Mohammed Ali, Babakinpa Zakariyawu, Mohammed M. Liman, Usman Abubakar and Mohammed Salawu RIfun. Others are; Adewumi D.B, Umaru Jibril, Dada Abiodun and Paul Babatunde.
