NPFL: Enyimba edges Plateau, moves to 5th

 

Enyimba moved to the fifth position in the Nigeria Professional Football League table following a 1-0 win against 10-man Plateau United in their match day eight fixture at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar on Wednesday.
Champions Plateau United, despite the defeat which was their third of the campaign, remain in the second position on the log.
Enyimba were awarded a penalty in the 10th minute after Elijah Ogene handled the ball in the box.
The resultant penalty was coolly dispatched by Stanley Dimgba who sent Okiemute Odah in the wrong direction.
It was Dimgba’s third goal of the season, and the second time he has scored from the spot for the Peoples Elephant this term.
The visitors were reduced to 10 -men late in the game when Salomon Junior was sent off for elbowing Ifeanyi Anaemena.
Enyimba will face Kano Pillars in their next fixture on Sunday, while Plateau United will host Enugu Rangers at the New Jos Stadium on the same day.
