UCL: Ronaldo hits milestone as Madrid outscore PSG

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Real Madrid rallied back from a goal down to beat Paris Saint Germain 3-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.
The Portuguese forward scored his 100th and 101st goals for Real Madrid in the competition.
PSG took the lead in the 33rd minute through Andrien Rabiot.
The ball fell for the Frenchman inside the Real Madrid box and he wasted little time smashing the ball into the net.
The home team got the equaliser on the stroke of half time courtesy of Ronaldo’s penalty.
The penalty was awarded after Toni Kroos was fouled inside the PSG box and Ronaldo converted for his 100th Champions League goal for Real Madrid since he joined them in 2009.
Real took the lead for the first time in the game seven minutes from time when Ronaldo bundled the ball home following a cross from substitute Marco Asensio.
Asensio was the provider once again four minutes later, this time around it was Brazilian left-back Marcelo who diverted his cross into the net.
At the Estadio Do Dragao, Liverpool look to have secure their passage into the quarter-finals after a comprehensive 5-0 away win against FC Porto of Portugal.
Awoniyi loses coach
Taiwo Awoniyi’s Coach at Royal Mouscron, Mircea Rednic, has been sacked.
The Nigerian netted a brace and provided an assist as they went down 4-3 against Standard Liege at the weekend, but those goals were not enough to save Rednic’s job, as he was given the boot by the lowly Belgian club.
The Belgian club announced today they sent Rednic packing after 14 months on the job on account of “disappointing results”.
They have only managed 13 points in their last 18 matches this season.
They are 12th on the table with 29 points from 26 matches.
His assistant Laurent Demol will take temporary charge of the club.
