Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has pledged that his administration will not relent in carrying out developmental projects especially in areas of roads, water supply, education and health.
Ahmed made the pledge yesterday while receiving the new executives of Ilorin Emirates Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) at the Government House, Ilorin.
Governor Ahmed who congratulated the new IEDPU leadership said the state government has always seen the union as a strong partner in development that had always provided constructive criticisms, strong suggestions and review in the past.
He called on other community associations to reposition themselves along the path as demonstrated by IEDPU, to provide a strong support in driving governance in the state.
He assured the union to strengthen the gap that exists in information dissemination to allow it perform its duty of acting as inter-phase between the state government and the people.
Earlier, the IEDPU National President, Amb. Usman AbdulAziz said the newly elected executives were at the Government House to seek support from the state government as extended to the previous executives of the union.
He commended the governor for the judicious utilisation of meagre resources and for various ongoing projects across the state.
Amb. AbdulAziz further said the union shares aims and objectives with the present administration as regards development.
