Ladi Hassan Heads ministerial peace c’ttee Herdsmen/Farmers Clash

 

The Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Alhaji Ladi Hassan has been appointment as Head of the Ministerial Committee to look into the incessant herdsman/farmers clash in the Federal Capital Territory with a view to find lasting peace.
Inaugurating the committee, the Minister of the FCT, Alhaji Muhammed Musa Bello said the committee became necessary in the wake of incessant clashes between the Fulani herdsmen and farmers around the country.
In an advocacy and sensitisation tour to the palaces of the Chairman, Traditional Council of the FCT and Ona of Abaji and His Royal Majesty Etsu of Kwali, on Monday, Alhaji Hassan said his committee will make concerted efforts with the herdsmen and farmers that will sustain and consolidate the existing peace as well as the harmony enjoyed by the two bodies in federal capital.
In their responses, both monarchs expressed their gratitude to the Hon. Minister for finding it extremely necessary to constitute the committee headed by Ladi Hassan at this sensitive and volatile period in our national development.
They implored both bodies to continue to live in peace adding that the government will not shy away from her responsibility with regards to their request.
The issue of farmer and herdsmen clash has claimed several lives in the country with the latest happening Benue.
President Buhari is presently on a tour of troubled states in the country as a result of the issue.
