Yinka Aluko Meets IGP Egbetokun,  Over Kidnapping Surge In Kwara

To effectively combat escalating security challenges facing the country, there is critical necessity for collaboration among all leaders, Acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has said.
Egbetokun stated this when the federal lawmaker representing Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, Hon Ahmed Yinka Aluko visited him in office in Abuja on Thursday.
The police boss said: ” There is a critical necessity for sustained collaboration among all leaders to effectively combat the various forms of crime prevalent in the country.”
Hon. Aluko who served as Special Adviser on Security to both Bukola Saraki and Abdulfatah Ahmed when they were governors of Kwara State had visited the police boss to engage him on how to combat the escalating security challenges affecting the nation, with a specific focus on kidnapping and banditry.
A substantial portion of their deliberations centred on addressing the unique security concerns within Kwara State, notably spotlighting the Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency.
Aluko mentioned that the region has witnessed a concerning surge in kidnapping incidents, particularly along the boundary between Ilorin South (Fufu) and Ifelodun Local Governments
The lawmaker explained the vital importance of strengthening the security workforce in Kwara State and offered commendations for the dedication and professionalism displayed by the Kwara State Police Command.
Aluko commended Egbetokun who  previously served as the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, for his remarkable dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the security and well-being of the state during his tenure.
Responding, the IGP expressed his gratitude for the visit, recognizing it as a service not only to the Federal Constituency which Aluko is representing, but to the entire nation.
He, however, assured Aluko that their deliberations would undergo a thorough review, with the requests presented being carefully considered for swift action.
The meeting marks a significant stride in addressing the critical security concerns faced by the nation, underlining the importance of unified efforts in enhancing the safety and well-being of Nigeria’s citizens.
