The Director General of Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), Barr. Ayo Fagbemi disclosed this during a chat with Pilot Business in his office on Friday.
According to Fagbemi, “The official opening is slated for 29th March, by the Special Guest of Honour, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed. The Governor has supported us towards having a hitch free trade fair.”
He said preparation by KWACCIMA for the event has been concluded in a bid to have a successful outing.
“We are ready for the programme. Everything is on ground as individual investors have registered.
He said KWACCIMA has since last week Monday embarked on roadshows within Ilorin metropolis to sensitise Kwarans about the event that would be parading foreign participants.
“All the 16 local governments in the state, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Solid Minerals, ditto for Nigerian Export Council Promotion and all Federal agencies in the state will be participating,” he disclosed.
When questioned on the cost implication for preparation, he disclosed that KWACCIMA has so far expended the sum of N3million.
“A budget to cover some expenses like procurement of some facilities, and secretariat expenses will be signed and approved at the next executive committee meeting.”
Fagbemi said an additional three-day extension for the trade fair has been approved, as this would enable Kwarans to get more benefits from the event.
