The House of Representatives member for Baruten/Kaiama federal constituency and senatorial candidate for Kwara North, Hon Zakari Mohammed has raised the alarm over the whereabouts of his cameraman and photographer who were reportedly whisked away by security operatives on Saturday.

The incident occurred while the federal lawmaker was preparing to cast his vote in his polling unit.

It could not be confirmed whether the duo have been released as text message sent to the lawmaker for his reaction was still being awaited last night, before this paper went to bed.

He gave the name of the camera man simply as Mr Oni and Abdul Momoh.

In the period leading to the Presidential and National Assembly election, some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were harassed and allegedly whisked away by security operatives.

A fellow senatorial candidate of the party in Kwara South, Rafiu Ibrahim was arrested on the eve of the national assembly election and yet to be released.

According to Zakari in Facebook post, the whereabouts and safety cannot be guaranteed.

“My cameraman and photographer, Oni and Abdul Momoh respectively have been forcefully whisked away by security agents while taking inventory during the time I was casting my vote. Their whereabouts is yet to be known since Saturday and their safety cannot be guaranteed.”

Recall that Zakari’s convoy was also obstructed during the campaign rally when some youth waylaid his convoy.
