Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly targeted Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez as the perfect replacement for Paul Pogba.
That’s according to El Gol Digital who claim United are willing to spend as much as £200m to land the Spain star this summer.
Pogba’s relationship with Mourinho appears to be at breaking point and it would not come as a major shock to see the player leave the club this summer given the latest reports.
And it’s claimed Mourinho is already planning for life after the Frenchman – by making Atletico’s Saul their No 1 focus.
The 23-year-old signed a mammoth nine-year deal with Atletico last summer, meaning any deal for the talismanic midfielder will not come cheap.
But the report claims Mourinho is desperate to land the player after earmarking as a long-term replacement for Pogba in his midfield, with the club willing to break the current world record fee to land the player.
