Aiyelabegan unveils Para Table tennis academy

 

Kwara state table tennis chief coach, Kehinde Aiyelabegan unveils his
table tennis academy for both able and disable at the Real Treasure
Guest lodge in Ilorin, Kwara state.
The coach who has produced national athletes like Shukurat
Aiyelabegan, Rofiat Jimoh, Iyanuoluwa Falana and Tobi Falana revealed
his passion for people living with disabilities spurred him to
start-up the academy.
“The passion that I have for the persons living with disabilities
urged me to have a key interest to be closer to develop these very
important people.”
He disclosed his intention, vision, mission and objectives of
establishing the academy.
“I want everybody present on this occasion to know that, this call, is
to the service of humanity.”
“The vision of the academy is to known as the best Para table tennis
academy that will contribute to the development of sports in Kwara
state and Nigeria in General.”
“I want to involve people with disabilities children in table tennis
as a sport with emphasis on fitness and competitive environment, also
giving their children and parents a positive feeling of social
belonging to a sound and safe environment.”
“I hope to help people with disabilities to achieve their maximum
potential, and also in education”
Speaking at the event, National team coach for table tennis, Coach
Nasiru Bello who disclosed the state is blessed with talented players
in the game with first Olympic Bronze medalist in Para Table tennis in
Atlanta 1998, Nasiru Sule (MON) a citizen of the state.
Coach Nasiru Bello who is also the founder of Para Table tennis in
Nigeria in 1985 charged Kwarans to support the founder of the
Aiyelabegan Para Table tennis academy, Coach Kehinde Aiyelabegan in
the quest to discover talents both in able and disable table tennis.
Except from athletes in able table tennis, Coach Kehinde Aiyelabegan
has also produced talent in disable, with Kudirat Imam Fulani who is a
Bronze and Gold medalist in International events – a product of the
coach.
The academy which will have its site at Asa Dam opposite NUT
Secretariat will have their athletes train on Saturdays and Sundays at
the Kwara State Stadium next week.
