Hajia Mariam Sadatu Ibrahim is the Chief Executive Officer of Tinas bags in Ilorin, Kwara State. The graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Bida said the love for bags made her go for that line of business.
According to her, she had a collection of over 30 bags and decided to put them up for sales.
I love bags so I go to artisans to design and customise to my taste. I had different colourful bags that I match with whatever I wear.
“Even the artisans put a call through to me whenever they have new products so I became very close to them, which later helped me in my business.
“Then my friends would come for my bags and some would plead with me to sell it to them. So, instead of looking for white collar job I decided to open my shop.
The entrepreneur then advised youths to pursue their dreams and exploit their innate potentials for economic gain.
Ibrahim urged the state government to support artisans and encourage entrepreneurship among youth as means of reducing unemployment rate in the country.
