For the third time in four months, National Pilot has scooped another award, this time as the ‘Best Selling Newspaper’.
The award was confirmed in a letter dated 26th of March, 2018 from the Magazines and Newspapers Distributors Association of Nigeria(MANDAN), Kwara State Branch.
The group stated that it considered National Pilot as deserving winner of the award after collation of sales of its members over the last one year.
The newspapers distributors further stated that National Pilot has continued to enjoy wide patronage from the reading public.
Part of the letter jointly signed by Mallam Saadu Aloba and Mallam Aliu Moshood, the Chairman and Secretary respectively, reads; “After thorough collation of sales from our members over a period of one year, it has been discovered that your newspaper, National Pilot has maintained a consistent rise in sales.
“It was on the above strength and couple with the fact that our association is a major player/partner in getting print media products to the readers, that we agreed at our last meeting to give honour to whom honour is due by conferring on your organisation the award of ‘The Best Selling Newspaper in Kwara State’.”
During the presentation of the letter, the Magazines and Newspapers Distributors informed this medium that the award presentation will take place in a fortnight.
While receiving the letter, the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of National Pilot, Alhaji Billy Adedamola appreciated the group, saying it was a delight that the recognition is coming from major stakeholders in the industry.
“On behalf of the organisation, I want to assure your association of our continuous partnership for growth and development because the award among other things is serving as further push to double our efforts in making sure that our product meets the expected demand,” Adedamola stated.
Recall that two months ago, National Pilot was awarded the Newspaper of the Year by the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS).
While announcing National Pilot as winner of the award, KWIRS Chairman, Dr Muritala Awodun said the medium was carefully selected from a pool of nominees as the Best Print Media for its consistency in reportage of events.
Similarly, during awards and dinner organised by the Ilorin Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), last December, the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of National Pilot, Alhaji Billy Adedamola, was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award was in appreciation of Adedamola’s impact on professional journalism, public orientation and development of the legal profession in Nigeria.
