By Bukola Adama
Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has advised All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the state to remain focus and not to allow themselves to be deceived by nocturnal politicians as another election period approaches.
Besides, the Governor also disclosed that the appointment of the Youth Coordinators that would oversee the affairs of the Youths across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state would be announced soon.
The Governor gave the hint at the monthly APC stakeholders meeting held at the Banquet Hall opposite Government House, Ilorin on Sunday, and appealed to party faithful to disregard campaigns of calumny by opposition politicians.
He added that no amount of hatred from the opposition could affect the APC’s chances at the poll given his government’s deployment of infrastructure among others.
He maintained that the APC remained the only the party to win in all elections in the state and called for unity under the structure of Dr Saraki for mutual benefit and general development of the state.
He said his government is committed to deployment of democratic dividends across the state without favour or bias and that all hands were on deck to take all the projects embarked upon to fruition with a guarantee funding window under the Infrastructure Development Fund (IF-K).
Governor Ahmed also explained that all projects embarked upon by his government were being funded by taxpayers money, saying that the monthly allocation due to the state could only pay workers’ salaries.
He explained that some areas that were affected as a result of the ongoing Geri Alimi would begin to enjoy uninterrupted water supply in the next three weeks.
The state APC Chairman, Hon Ishola Balogun-Fulani had in his remarks informed the gathering about the ongoing tour of the Local Government by the party.
He said the party had noted some yearnings and aspirations of some Local Government Areas which he said the APC government in the state would attend to accordingly.
Balogun also warned APC members to shun anti party activities and remain committed for mutually benefits.
Speaking on behalf of the APC leaders in the state, Hon Kola Yusuf praised the governor for the giant efforts in fixing almost all the roads in the state, and submitted that the governor had done the party proud with his track record of achievements.
He however drew the Governor’s attention to other roads like Kishi/Kaiama, Maigida/Arobadi, Ilesha-Baruba/Gwnara among other roads, urging him to fast track efforts to ensure their completion.
Hon Yusuf also advised the Governor to extend the Light Up Kwara project of his government to Local Government Headquarters in the state in order to boost night life in those areas.
