Gold Coast 2018: Team Nigeria drops to 10th in medal table

Team Nigeria ended day seven in the 10th position in the medal table of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
At the end of events on Wednesday, Nigeria’s medal haul still stood at four gold and four silver, the country dropping from ninth to 10th.
On Wednesday, Yinka Ajayi’s hopes of adding to Nigeria’s medals ended in disappointment as she finished in the eighth position in the women’s athletics 400 metres final.
Meanwhile, South Africa moved up to fourth position in the medals table with 10 gold, seven silver and nine bronze medals.
Botswana is in 14th position with two gold, one silver; Uganda is 15th with two gold, one bronze and Kenya with three silver and three bronze is in the 23rd position.
Other African countries in the medal table are Mauritius in joint-26th on one silver and Cameroon with just one bronze in joint-31st.
Host Australia tops the table with 57 gold medals, followed by England with 25 gold. India is third with 12 gold medals.
