The Chairman of Moro Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdulmumeen Saka Eleyele on Monday celebrated his 100 days in office by distributing drugs to 10 hospitals in the area.
Eleyele who had earlier graded the road linking Agbebe to Ara village also gave out five motorcycles across the five districts of the area.
Speaking at Bode-Saadu, the headquarters of the local government, Eleyele said the gesture was in fulfilment of the dividends of democracy which he promised the people under the leadership of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
“As we have promised during the electioneering campaign, our administration is determined to keep impacting on our people in such areas like infrastructure, health, qualitative education, security and in the empowerment of our youths and women.
“Before now, we have supported our women with financial grants, graded the road linking Ara to Agbebe and we have also provided logistics and enabling environment in our schools to improve quality of education.
“We would have done more for our people but for the dwindling Federal Allocation. That aside, I will like to implore all the beneficiaries to use the motorcycles and drugs for their intended purposes,” he said.
The Chairman also urged the people to keep supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state under the leadership of Dr Bukola Saraki.
In their remarks, the Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Mathew Okedare and the APC Chairman in Moro, Alhaji Oladimeji Amoo both appreciated Eleyele for his various programmes while assuring the people of the local government of more benefits under the party.
Speaking, Mr Bayo Ogunbo appreciated the Chairman on behalf of other beneficiaries, even as he promised that the motorcycles will go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of the recipients.
“We have always known that our Chairman, Alhaji Abdulmumeen Saka Eleyele has the wellbeing of the people at heart. Ever since Eleyele became the council chairman, he has made the welfare of the youth and women a priority and we have no regrets that we voted massively for him.
“We are indeed grateful to our leader, Dr Bukola Saraki and our amiable Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed for giving us Eleyele as chairman,” Ogunbo disclosed.
Present at the event is the Vice Chairman, Hajia Iyabo AbdulRasaq, women and youth leaders as well as party loyalists.
