Health workers urged to shun professional rivalry

Health workers have been implored to desist from professional rivalry and give premium to their primary responsibility of quality service delivery.

A Pharmacist, Mrs. Balikis Lawal, who gave the charge during the free health programme organised by Rotamedics Pharmacy in Ilorin, Kwara State recently, urged health workers to work as a team at all times.

“Stakeholders in the health sector must shun all forms of rivalry and concentrating on their primary target of ensuring a healthy nation.

“Indeed we need a collaborative effort of all stakeholders, we cannot do things in isolation if we really want to deliver on our mandate in this country. We must stop rivalry at all levels.”

Speaking on health programme, Lawal lauded the management of Rota medics Pharmacy for the laudable scheme, which it will assist the poor access healthcare.

In the same vein, a dentist, Dr. Adebayo Bamidele  called on other private organisations to key into the innovation.

According to him, while it reduces the health hazard faced by many, it will also help in eradicating ailments in the country

Cross section of beneficiaries who spoke to Pilot Health expressed appreciation to the organiser, said the initiative is a good one that would discourage people from self medication.

Speaking during an interview with this medium, the Director of Rotamedics Pharmacy, Abdraheem Malik  said the programme is one of the ways  to give back to the society and also contribute to healthy nation.

The US based pharmacist who decried challenges in the health sector in Nigeria, called on stakeholders to adopt the initiative in order to help develop the health sector and build a virile nation.
