Bello promises to maintain Africa number one
Kwara born African number one Paralympics Badminton player, Bello Rafiu Oyebanji has promised to maintain his status as player promises to maintain Africa’s number one.
Bello, who just returned from international tournaments; African Paralympics Championship and Uganda Paralympics game, told Pilot Sports about the experience garnered at the championship.
Bello said the tournament has exposed him to the outside world, and also improved his world ranking.
“I garnered a lot of experience in Uganda tournaments, especially playing against the international players from France and the rest of the world.”
“I was Africa’s number one before this tournament and I thank God I still maintained my number one spot in Africa due to my good performance at the championship so, I thank God for this great achievement,” he said.
Bello won three bronze, one silver at the international tournaments and three gold medals at the just concluded championships in Uganda.
Bello however thanked Kaduna and Abia states Government for their support throughout the tournament.
He also looked forward to get more support from Kwara government, individuals and corporate bodies as he prepare for another international tournament in Tokyo.
