IBEDC warns customers against paying cash to enumerators

By Matthew Denis

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has warned customers against paying cash or inducing favour from enumerators.
The Public Communication Officer of Ilorin Region, Mr. Asaju Kolawole issued the warning during a chat with Pilot Business on Wednesday.
Recall that the Disco company commenced its Asset Customers Enumeration (ACE) exercise across its districts in kwara state last month.
He said:  ” Our customers should avoid paying cash or induce any favour from the enumerators. They should make their transactions at the appropriate IBEDC outlets across the state.
“The exercise is the technical audit of our assets and the data capturing of existing and prospective customers. It involves the identification of developed, undeveloped and vacant properties within our franchise,” he explained.
Kolawole noted that the benefits of the programme include reduction in estimated billing and improved accuracy of billing with better power supply and quicker fault response time.
Other advantages, according to him are identification of obsolete and damaged equipment such as meters, transformers, poles for upgrade and replacement.
” There will also be reduction in power interruptions, enhanced customers service delivery, proper planning for potential customers and their payment rates,”he added
The spokesman called for cooperation by the customers to the enumerators for a smooth exercise as in the state
