National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu and the National Chairman of the ruling party, John Oyegun were among the party leaders who joined President Muhammadu Buhari for dinner, yesterday.
The dinner started around 8:30pm at the new banquet hall of the presidential villa in Abuja.
Former governor of Osun, Bisi Akande; Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo; former governor of Ekiti State, Segun Oni, Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi, were among the dignitaries at the event.
Governors at the meeting were Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) and Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa).
Some members of the national assembly, ministers and stakeholders from the zone also attended the dinner.
Before journalists were excused from the meeting, it was announced that Fayemi and Tinubu would make brief remarks before the dinner, while Oyegun and the president will speak at the end.
As at the time of filing this report, the meeting was still in progress.
