I worked to raise capital for business – CEO, Productive Institute
Akintunde Kayode, the Chief Executive Officer of Productive Institute has said his foray into the world of business was divinely ordered.
The proprietor of the educational institute based in Ilorin, Kwara State, recalled that he started his enterprise with N25,000, which he raised by himself.
Kayode, a master’s degree holder in Educational Psychology from University of Ilorin, said his journey into the business world was not a bed of roses.
“Right from my days in the college I had dreamt of going into business. Thereafter, despite my academic attainment, I refused to seek white collar job which in the real sense was limited.
“My parents were not rich as I can still recollect vividly that I hawked pepper, gari and did menial jobs to assist my parents,” he added.
“I started my business with N25, 000, which I managed to raise coaching students. There was no one to offer me financial assistance, so I resorted to personal efforts towards that end.
“Today, my institute has grown beyond my imagination. I am now an employer of labour. I have about 11 staff on my pay roll.
Kayode, however, advised Nigerian youths on the need to take their destiny in their hands and learn how to maximise opportunities.
“The truth is that there is no white collar job anywhere. We should endeavour as youths to tap from many business ideas God has deposited in us. There is nobody created by God without a peculiar business trait.
