…as cleric harps on ceaseless praises to God

Song of praises and jubilation pervaded the atmosphere of Calvary Baptist Church, Gaa-Akanbi, Ilorin during celebration of its 40th anniversary, yesterday.
The Minister-in-charge, Reverend Francis Oladipo, in his sermon charged members of the Church not to relent in giving praises to God in all circumstances.
He admonished Christians not to be ingrates as he alluded to the story of ten lepers in the book of Luke, Chapter 17.
According to him, God healed ten lepers of their infirmities but only one of them came back to appreciate Him for his healings.
“The other nine lepers who did not come back to thank God were not made whole,” he added.
The clergyman therefore urged believers to count their blessings daily and overlook the vicissitudes of life in order to give God quality praise.
He stressed that if Christians appreciate God for His wondrous works, more blessings will be showered on them.
“Individuals should appreciate God always through worship by singing. That is when miracles come down and diseases disappear. Praising God in a good way to provokes God’s hand to wrought wonders over our lives. If you’ve prayed for certain things and it isn’t forthcoming, try praises,” Oladipo further said.
Meanwhile, award of commendation was given to one of the church deacons, Mr. John Aweda for his meritorious service to the church in the past 40 years
