Kwara representatives win Channels Kids Cup

The LGEA Central Primary School from Kwara State, Kaiama have won the Channels International Kids Cup, 2018.
They emerged victorious on Sunday after beating Baptist Primary from Osun state by 3 goals to 1.
16 primary schools started the journey, but only the teams from Kwara, Osun and Ekiti made it to top three.
The Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, rewarded the teams with a sum of five million Naira.
The winner, LGEA Central Primary School received two million Naira, Baptist Primary School which took second place was given 1.5 million Naira while Emmanuel Anglican Primary School in third place received one million Naira.
X-planter Private School from Lagos in 4th position was also not left out as the governor donated a sum of N500,000 to them.
Meanwhile, Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed, has congratulated pupils of LGEA Central Primary School, Kaiama for winning the 10th Channels International Kids Cup on Sunday in Lagos.
The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulwahab Oba, said the kids have once again shown his government’s investment and belief in the ability of its youth.
Governor Ahmed promised that his administration will continue to prioritise giving opportunity to the youth through sports and providing conducive environment for learning.
“We will continue to invest in sports development because the sector is good enough to create jobs for our teeming youth”, the governor said.
“Our triumph at the International tournament has shown the spirit of a true Kwaran, who will excel by all legal means possible. Ours is a place of opportunities”, Dr Ahmed said.
The Governor promised to support the pupils so that others can learn from them the industrious nature of a Kwaran.
