Kwara Commissioner calls for staff discipline, commitment

 

The Kwara State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Aminat Susa’ ade Ahmed has charged staff of the ministry on diligence and commitment in order to make the state a better place for all.

Dr Ahmed stated this recently during her inaugural meeting with management and staff of the ministry, adding that she will welcome contributions from stakeholders in promoting the rich culture of the state to ensure improved revenue generation.

The former commissioner for Tertiary Education said her new posting was never by accident but purposefully for the reformation of the ministry. She maintained that there is a lot to be done in complementing government’s efforts at transforming the sector.She added that the sector is capable of creating jobs for the teeming youths and boosting the state’s economy. According to her, if the state’s cultural sector is developed, it would attract a lot of tourists thereby giving international recognition to Kwara.

Hajia Ahmed however promised to operate an open door policy adding that the support and contributions of employees of the ministry is imperative in achieving her mission.

“I don’t keep malice with anyone and my door is always open to all staff whose messages would be relayed in good spirit and not in gossip,” she stated adding that open mindedness is an attribute that gives soul comfort to the souls.

The Commissioner appreciated the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and the entire people of Kaiama Local Government Area of the state for deeming her fit for re-appointment even as she pledged never to let them down.

Responding, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Hajia Jumai Kperogi assured the new Commissioner of rededication of staff towards the growth of the ministry. She added that base on the previous portfolios held by the new Commissioner, the welfare of staff is assured.
