National Honour: National Pilot gets 2 nominations for 2018 Nigeria Internet Awards
…event holds July 6 in Lagos

Five months after National Pilot won the ‘Newspaper of The Year’ award courtesy of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), another double accolade is about to come the way of the medium following its nomination for the ‘Best Print Media Award’ and the ‘Best Online Media Website’.
The nominations this time is coming from a Lagos-based organisation; the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA).
In separate letters received on Tuesday and titled; ‘Official Letter of Nomination into the 2018 .NG Awards,’ NIRA said, “On behalf of the 2018.ng Awards Committee, we write to officially congratulate you and inform you of the nomination of National Pilot in the “Best Print Media Award” and “Best Online Media Website” categories for the 2018.ng Awards.”
According to the organisation, the “Best Print Media Award” category recognises excellence in journalism and other media related activities based on the level of local and original content promoted with .ng domain name.
“The National Pilot was nominated by the general public and assessed by the award jury as fulfilling the criteria for this category.
“The National Pilot will be competing with other nominees in this category and the winner will be determined by the number of votes received.
“As a result, we implore you to inform your clients, customers and stakeholders to acknowledge your achievements by voting your organisation. The voting mechanism is available online at www.nira.org.ng/ngawards/vote.php,” part of the letter reads.
According to the letters, voting which commenced on May 10, will close by the midnight of Friday June 22nd 2018 while the Web Gala Awards will take place in Ikeja, Lagos State on Friday, July 6, 2018.
Other newspapers nominated alongside National Pilot for both the “Best Print Media Award” and “Best Online Media Website” include; Daily Trust, Guardian, Tribune, Leadership and Daily Times Newspaper.
