RATTAWU charges FG on dedicated children fund for orphans

The Federal Government has been charged to come up with a dedicated fund to assist the various Ministries of Social Welfare to take care of the orphans in the country.

The Women leader, North Central zone of the Radio, Television Theatre and Art Workers Union (RATTAWU), Comrade Hauwa Sambo gave the advice in his message on the occasion of the Children Day celebration.

Comrade Sambo also urged the Federal Government to intensify efforts to secure the release of the remaining Chibok schoolgirls and the only Dapchi schoolgirl still in the custody of the Boko Haram insurgents.

She explained the role of the Nigerian child in the nation’s development and the need to lay a good foundation for them in order to secure their future.

The Women leader stressed that it is the responsibility of the government to provide socio-amenities for the citizenry to have the impact of democracy.

Comrade Sambo therefore called on parents particularly, women to monitor the activities of their wards so that they will be useful to the society.
