Saraki congratulates National Pilot on double nominations for 2018 Nigeria Internet Awards

The Senate President, Dr Abubakar Saraki has congratulated the National Pilot Newspaper following the nomination of the medium by the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA) for double awards.
In separate letters received last Tuesday National Pilot was nominated by NIRA for the ‘Best Print Media Award’ and ‘Best Online Media Website Award.
Reacting to the development, Saraki in a text message congratulated the medium while also wishing the publication more success in the future.
Recall that in separate letters received from NIRA and titled; ‘Official Letter of Nomination into the 2018 .NG Awards,’ NIRA said, “On behalf of the 2018.ng Awards Committee, we write to officially congratulate you and inform you of the nomination of National Pilot in the “Best Print Media Award” and “Best Online Media Website” categories for the 2018.ng Awards.”
The organisation added that, the “Best Print Media Award” category recognises excellence in journalism and other media related activities based on the level of local and original content promoted with .ng domain name.
“The National Pilot was nominated by the general public and assessed by the award jury as fulfilling the criteria for this category.
“The National Pilot will be competing with other nominees in this category and the winner will be determined by the number of votes received.
“As a result, we implore you to inform your clients, customers and stakeholders to acknowledge your achievements by voting your organisation. The voting mechanism is available online at www.nira.org.ng/ngawards,” part of the letter reads.
According to the letters, voting which commenced on May 10, will close by the midnight of Friday June 22, 2018 while the Web Gala Awards will take place in Ikeja, Lagos State on Friday, July 6, 2018.
Other nominees alongside National Pilot in both categories are; Guardian, Tribune, Daily Trust, Leadership and Daily Times Newspaper.
The nomination is coming five months after National Pilot beat other publications to emerge the ‘Newspaper of The Year’ during the 2017 Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), Awards.
