Dr. Yemisi Adeyeye is the Managing Director of a Lifefount International Hospital and the Chief Executive Officer of Lifefount Foundation in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The quest for better healthcare delivery in the country, prompted her entrepreneurial concept.
According her, when she was eight months pregnant and had just moved into a new neighbourhood, she could not get a reputable hospital to offer qualitative healthcare.
She said, “Any night my husband who was a surgeon-in-training then was on-call I had fear of not getting healthcare should the need arise. So, my partner and I started Lifefount International Hospital. With passion to reverse medical tourism.”
The trained medical doctor explained that the challenges are numerous and solving them is what they do as entrepreneurs .
“At the early phase of the business there was no money to hire many staff therefore we started with two full time staff and accommodated them. We gradually recruited more staff as the hospital grew,” she further explained.
According to her, “Our service is unique because we provide accessibility to prompt Medico- Surgical, beautiful environment with courteous staff. We are also accessible via our website and social media platforms.”
She, however, encouraged youths to acquire vocational skills to be self reliant.
“If you get a white collar job be the best at your duty and someday others will serve you. If you didn’t get or want a white collar job, pay attention to your talent or learn a skill. Get training in entrepreneurship and become an employer of labour. With Patience and steady progress you will be successful,” Adeyeye advised.
She noted that Kwara is a viable place to start , grow and expand business, saying “I know many other businesses doing very well here and enjoying patronage nationally and globally.”
“Lifefount Medico-surgical initiative caters for capacity building needs of Healthcare providers,” she added.
Adeyeye is medical doctor, a certified management consultant and a fellow Institute of Management Consultants.
