Late Justice Mustapha lived fulfilled life, says Kwara SSG
The Secretary to the Government of Kwara State, Alhaji Sola Isiaka Gold, has described the late pioneer chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Justice Mustapha Adebayo Akanbi as a man of integrity and one who lived a fulfilled life.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Issa Muhammed, his Chief Press Secretary, Gold said the greatest asset of the deceased was his uncompromising quality of incorruptibility.
He added that the eminent jurist will be long remembered for his enormous contributions in bringing credibility to the country’s judicial system.
“The death of Justice Akanbi is a loss not only to the Nigerian Judiciary, but Africa as a whole and the entire humanity in general.
“In a country where corruption is perceived as fashionable, Akanbi stood out as a remarkable man who put personal integrity and selflessness before the desire for money outside his legitimate income.”
According to the SSG, Justice Akanbi left the public service with his integrity intact and untainted.
While extolling the virtues of the late jurist, Gold urged his children to emulate the good qualities of the deceased.
He commiserated with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari and the entire people of Ilorin Emirate over Justice Mustapha Akanbi demise.
The Secretary to the State Government noted that the vacuum created by the demise of justice Akanbi would be difficult to fill, while also praying God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
The jurist died in Ilorin after a brief illness at the age of 85 penultimate Sunday and has since been buried according to Islamic injunctions.
