As Muslims world over prepare for eid-el- fitri, the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) located at various banks within Ilorin, Kwara State were on Wednesday overcrowded.
A tour of banks within the metropolis by Pilot Business showed that most of the customers stormed the machines to withdraw money to make last minute shoppings for the celebration.
It was observed that some of the ATMs were malfunctioning at the time of the visit. At Diamond Bank, Ibrahim Taiwo branch only one out of the three machines was dispensing cash despite the long queue. Also at Guaranty Trust Bank both on Taiwo and Unity roads as well as Zenith Bank, Unity branch the ATM galleries were filled to capacities.
The seven ATMs at First Bank, Unity branch recorded the highest number of customers as most of them came to withdraw in order to buy foodstuffs at the nearby Obbo road market.
