Christians tasked on charity

Christians have again been charged to develop the spirit of giving to the needy and the less privileged in the society.

A Cleric, Pastor Ademola Popoola made the call today in his sermon delivered at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Ilorin District Headquarters during Oluwole Empowerment programme.

Speaking on the topic “restoration”, Pastor Popoola explained that the empowerment of forty-five members of the Church was to eradicate poverty and support government in its drive to develop the people.

The Cleric advised the people not to rely on government alone calling on wealthy individuals and corporate bodies to assist Nigerians to make life bearable for the citizens.

He noted that the giving of empowerment would positively change the life of the people.

Pastor Popoola stated that about N7.5m was expended on the scheme this year.

The Cleric thanked God and the sponsor for the successes recorded so far since the commencement of the programme six years ago.

He called on the people to look unto God for solutions to their challenges.

Pastor Popoola urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment to improve their economic conditions.

Items given to the beneficiaries included four sewing machine, freezers, two grinding machine and electronics.
