2019: Kwara PDP leaders converge for Esinrogunjo

 

Notable leaders of the Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital converge on Geri-Alimi for the commissioning of the campaign office of its chairmanship aspirant in the November last year local government chairmanship election, comrade Musbaudeen Esinrogunjo.
Among the roll call of the PDP leaders who stormed the facility for the commissioning included the state chairman, Iyiola Oyedepo, a party elder, Alhaji Oba Ajara, its Public Relation Officers, Chief Rex Olawoye, Dr Amuda Aluko, Alhaji Muhammed Ibrahim Ajia, former gubernatorial aspirant in the state, Gbenga Olawepo among other members of the party.
Speaking at the event, Oyedepo called on the people to collect their voters card in preparation for the forthcoming election adding that that is the only way they can play their part in bringing the PDP to power in the state.
In his remark, Olawepo who said he was making his first political appearance in seven years and noted that his presence at the occasion was personal noted that the issue for him is not about PDP or APC but about the personality adding that Esinrogunjo’s personality, attracted him to the event.
He therefore enjoined the party members to vote for candidate as against party during next year’s election.
In his comments, Esinrogunjo thanked the party leaders and supporters for gracing the event. He noted that 2019 will be a watershed in the history of election in the state, adding that the “Liberation House” which the facility is called is not one by him alone.
“This campaign office is for PDP and not for me. It is the office of Professor Oba, Lukman Mustapha and all other aspirants in our party that are involved in the liberation struggle”, he submitted.
Later in an interview with Pilot Politics, he added that “this office was opened called liberation house for campaign purposes in line with our political mantra, ‘Liberation’, we rode by this in the last local government election as all is now set to lead Kwara state out of shackles as 2019 election get nearer”.
On whether he has relinquished his local government mandate with the new development, Esinrogunjo said “he remained resolute” as the case is ongoing in the court.
“I am just coming from the court, but they keep adjourning the case time and again as the next seat is slated for June 29.
“The voice of the people matters in any political direction. People on different forum are asking and demanding on a daily basis that I come out for Governorship, House of Assembly and House of Representative election. But, when it is time, I would let my followers know our next line of action.
“PDP in Kwara state is now a one formidable family as we have put behind us rancour and vices”, he submitted.
The new campaign office comprised of various departments including media and publicity.
