Chukwu: How Nigeria can subdue Iceland

Former Nigeria handler Christian Chukwu has stated that the ‘Super Eagles’ attack should be more forceful’ in order to overcome Iceland in their second game in the ongoing World Cup.

Gernot Rohr’s side are hoping to redeem themselves against Heimir Hallgrimsson’s men at the Volgograd Arena after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Croatia in their opening game.

The three-time African champions have only failed to make it to the second round of the quadrennial tournament in 2002 and 2010 editions.

And Chukwu has explained how they can avoid a potential early flight from Russia.

“The boys must come out to put more efforts especially in the attack,” Chukwu told Goal.

“The Super Eagles attack should be more forceful so that we can cross over Iceland.

“And I think Nigeria can still qualify from the group but everything is still possible until after our second game.”
