Embattled National President of the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS), Comrade Musa Muhammed Mancha has said the senate has no constitutional right to suspend him alleging that the Senate President may be acting out a script by some politicians.

Aside financial misappropriation, the NAKSS President was also accused of subjecting the union to partisan politics to the extent of endorsing aspirants and mobilising students to welcome governorship and House of Representative aspirants at the airport.

But speaking yesterday with our reporter, Mancha debunked the misappropriation of the sum of N1.5million as contained in a statement signed by the NAKSS Senate President, Comrade Abdulazeez Ahmad El-Imam and the Senate Clerk, Comrade Sulyman Abubakar.

He said, “The same Senate President was asked to step aside during the last sitting over allegation of financial misappropriation and the sitting was later dispersed to allow peace to reign. Mancha added that if there should be a sitting to suspend any officer, it should have been done in an honourable way and not the senators standing on their feet and mace hanged on the well.

Speaking further, he said, El-Imam led some members of the association to collect the sum of N1million from a governorship aspirant in the state having earlier collected the sum of N200,000 from the same politician during our inauguration.

“Ever since the said statement was issued, I have continued with my role as the NAKSS President and I even gave a speech during the NCC/NOA sensitisation programme two days ago, so the issue of suspension does not hold.”

Mancha however urged youths to avoid being used to destabilise the relative peace enjoyed in the state and the country at large, saying, “youths should see themselves as agents of peace and not weapons of mass destruction.”

Similarly, the National Treasurer of NAKSS, Comrade Ibrahim Adebayo said the allegation of financial misappropriation levelled ag
