Speaking on his plan for next season, Awoniyi stressed that he would return to his parent club Liverpool where discussion and decisions will be reached by the management.

He said, “Firstly for me is to go back to my parent club, which is Liverpool and decisions will be taken there on the next step.

The player applauded performance of the Super Eagle team during the World Cup matched with Argentina, adding that it was unfortunate that the country lost at this early stage.

“For me I have always believed in my country and believed in our talents and environment. I believe we have a lot of talents and great team and we can do better.

Awoniyi spent time on loan in Germany with FSV Frankfurt and also in Holland where he played for NEC Nijmegen since joining Liverpool two seasons ago.

Still not eligible for a work permit in England, he will be hoping for better luck in his current team than at his previous team’s where he endured the pains of relegation for the two teams he has played for on loan.
